I bought this for my one-year-old, but it took her about a month to get the coordination down pat. At first it was a bit heavy for her, and her attempts to play with it usually consisted of either swinging it wildly by one handle or by using both handles to bang it on the floor. But now at fifteen months, she has optimized its percussive abilities to the point that it will soon be accidentally left at grandma's >:-D

I bought this for my 11 month old to grow into, but she is actually able to manipulate it to make sounds now. It is a bright and well-made toy and she LOVES it. I like that she has something well-made and musical that it not loud, obnoxious, or electronic.

This was a gift for my 10 month old, who is teething and also likes to bang things to make noise. This was a great fit for him. A little big, but he can still "work it".
