As a family therapist I used this game quite often in practice. I was quite excited to find it for such reasonable price now that I am a stay at home mother. It teaches skills of cooperation and is not like many games. It is relatively quick and fun. I have yet to play it with my 2.5 year old but will very soon as he enjoys board games and catches on quickly.Monday, July 28, 2014
Cheap Family Pastimes / Sleeping Grump - A Co-operative Game
I inherited a older version of this game which used different shaped plastic pieces instead of cardboard discs, but the game is the same. It's the only game I've found so far which everyone can play, cooperate with each other, show mercy to an opponent and still have fun. By cooperating with each other, players can get what they need (one of each disc type) by sharing with each other and uniting against the sleeping giant (grump), but still be kind enough to leave some for the grump in the hope that he won't be so greedy any more if he already has one of each thing. It teaches cooperation, kindness and unity; how good is that? My 4 year old adores it!
