nice little board I may have to get a couple more. It is a neat way to store prototypes that you will use later.

Great value for money for a prototype shield. I have a couple of these items with the mini-breadboard fitted. Virtuabotix does a nice job with these shields IMHO.

Pros:

Reasonable well made

Comes with a mini-breadboard with a adhesive pad underneath so you can attach it to the shield

Cons:

Has to be the top shield as it isn't possible to stack another shield on top of it

Lack of female headers for the on-board LEDs and push-button connectors

The latter item is only really a problem if you want to attach the mini-breadboard and use jumper wires to connect to the LEDs and push-button.

Said it all and I love it even more as my new ISP Programmer. Assembling prototype shields is exciting for me exactly once...

I was wanting to make an ISP programmer and one that could program things like Tiny's. When I saw the

Adafruit tutorial the idea was done. I wired it as suggested all but the Zif socket which was wired for Attiny4313's and Attiny85's. The ISP connector connects to any Arduino chip with a 6 pin header on it for re/programming. A nice shield with the right stuff for a LOT of projects because it has a nice compliment of 'extra' footprints.

All of us have breadboards, so why would you need a little shield like this . . . just build on a separate breadboard and run jumpers over. Well, that is what I thought, until I got my hands on one of these little shields, and now I would never go back to a separate breadboard.

This shield allows you to build your project right on top of the arduino. It results in a much more compact, and much better looking prototype. Easier to carry around and show off than building on a separate breadboard. Also, there is less chance of wires coming lose and it makes it easier to wire things up correctly the first time.

I bought one of these, but intend on ordering more, now that I see how well they work.

Another great Virtuobotix product!
