I bought this set, as well as another Lego Figures Set, for my 6 year old son. He loves Legos already but seems to have the most fun with the people so I figured I would see if there was just a set of people I could get him. He was really excited to get all the parts and build the people. Each 'type' of person has a lot of cool little Lego accessories to enhance them. For example, the witch figure has a cool witch broom and a cauldron and spider. The mer-people have some seaweed and a little Lego crab. The skeleton pirates were a big hit with my son. It is a really cute set. We had lots of fun putting them all together and he loves playing with them.

When you consider 16 Lego Mini Figures at 3.00 a piece will come up to $48, this isn't such a bad deal. For about $45 you get 22 cute figures, which comes out to about 2.00 each. And the come with some pretty cool pieces that go with each figure to make a small set. So, although you have to buy them all at once, they are more cost effective than individual Mini Figures from the store.

My kids love the minifigures and creating their own adventures. However, my daughter just doesn't have the choices that my son has in the lego world. This set has great options for girls princess/queen, mermaid, witches. The set was still perfect for my son skeletons, pirates, etc.

Now she can play her own characters.

Some problems with the hair not staying on during play. But still worth it.

This was for a 4 yr. old girl who wants to play legos, too, like her brother. I was thinking that all the little "scenes" would be in individual bags. Instead there were several large bags with all the pieces, too much for a Lego novice. So I gave the box and some 3x4 clear bags (from the craft store) to my husband. I had him copy the picture of the characters and the "scene" and find all the little pieces for that particular character setting. In the bag went the picture and the pieces and the fairy tale set became manageable. It is a nice set for girls, especially those that like to have people to add to their creations; it just needed modification for our situation. I haven't bought many Lego sets; thus I didn't realize how the parts are packaged: lots in one bag to be sorted. Part of the experience, I guess.

I purchased this as a Christmas present for my 5 year old daughter. She loves playing Legos with her older brother, but at times she gets a little fed up with all the swords and guns and weapons and all that "cool" stuff boys love.

For Christmas she asked for "Legos for girls" and I came across this set.

It includes a ton of minifigures that are very unique she especially loves the mermaid/man and the king/queen.

Lego recently released a new series called Lego Friends that has a distinctly "little girl" feel. Everything is pink and light purple, the sets come with things like little cookware and spatulas instead of swords and weapons, etc. This fairy tale set is a nice fit in the middle of typical Legos and Lego Friends. It will appeal to girls, but at the same time, doesn't get to "little girlish" that my son won't play with it.

The variety is really nice fairy tale characters, kings/queens, bride/groom, etc. I highly recommend it minifigures are typically quite expensive, so finding a large set like this is a good deal.
