This is a ToysRUs toy and as such it can be purchased locally at most toysrus stores (and sometimes for less than you'd find it here). The keyboard is touch sensitive, it is made of (reinforced) plastic and the keys are printed on the top. There are also a few other printed buttons which change from a basic keyboard to quitar, violin, etc., and also enable the demo or magic-play modes. The thing is certainly fun, as for instance in magic-play mode you can pretty much touch any keys (basically at random) and it still sounds like you're playing something. A nice feature is that it plays the same key if touched multiple times repeatedly (without pauses unlike most other kids keyboards we've come across). The demo mode has a bunch of popular kids songs pre-programmed. Built quality I'd rate as very good: we had it for more than half a year now and the thing has seen an incredible amount of abuse (and I'm talking being thrown down the stairs, bashed agains the wall or table, stepped on... well you get the idea) and it is still in one piece and works just fine. The sound is okay for the money (it may sound a little metallic when new but with use it mellows out somewhat this can also be remedied by placing some regular masking tape in top of the speaker, though the chances of the tape being left alone is, well zero). It requires three AAA batteries and if not used for 5-10min it turns itself off (note: when the batteries run down, the keyboard will begin to make random sounds, the demo does not work properly, e.g. it starts one song and then jumps to another, etc.) Overall this is a fun-tastic toy and our kid loves it (and more importantly plays with it quite often). Bottom line, this is the best toy/battery-operated keyboard we have come across so far (at this price) so five star.
