I bought this item for my 5 year old daughter. It is wonderful. It is alot bigger than I thought it would be. It magnifies very well for a toy. Very cute too. I would recommend this to a friend.

I bought two of these for my 2.5-year-old twins. It's only the second time in several hundred Amazon purchases that I will be returning a product. They both have tiny scratches all over one side that I thought was sticky residue from something but appears to be permanent. Plus, they don't magnify things much at all. And I feel like they'll fall apart with one good hit! I will say that they're very cute though.

The magnifying glass is super cute and actually bigger and more durable than I had thought it would be. I was surprised that it really works as most little kid toys like this do not. My two year old is having a blast making everything bigger. Lots of "oohs" and "aahs" from him! I'm sure his older cousins will enjoy it as well.

Got the item as described. Well packaged. But the magnifying glass has scratches or stains on it, so whenever my daughter look something up, the scratches are more prominent than the actual object.

This was not a planned or carefully deliberated purchase, as most of our toys are. We found it in a clearance bin in a store since forgotten when my daughter was about a year old. It gave her something to fiddle with while shopping and given the cheap price and her apparent interest in it, we decided to go ahead and buy it. Over a year later, she still pulls it out of the toy box regularly. She loves looking at our faces and her other toys through the lens and making silly faces at us through it, and enjoys it on car rides too. Quite a pleasant surprise for an impulse buy.

As others have said, it's not a perfect lens, it's a toy. It does magnify, but has the feel of a child's plastic mirror, which are a bit fun-housey. And since it's plastic, it does get scratched and hazy over time, but still seems to have plenty of play value a year later (I'd discourage outdoor use where it might meet pavement or gravel). I deducted one star for the paint on the handle. It does scratch off fairly easily, which I feel suits the price we paid but makes me a little uncomfortable given our fears about paint these days. If my daughter were a chewer, I'd probably find something to seal the paint with or cover it with another material.
