I know what you're thinking...there's NO WAY I'm paying that much for flash cards so that they can just get torn up like the others I've bought for less. I know that's what you're thinking because I thought the same thing. I finally decided I wanted to know what all the fuss was about and so I ordered them. I just got them and I have to tell you that on the way out of the box, I knew they were special! The first thing about them is that they are STURDY (about as thick as Tag Junior book)! They could possibly be folded but they (hopefully) won't end up in pieces like other cards I have bought. Second, they are really brightly colored with interesting pictures. Third, they LOOKED so much FUN that I had to play with them right away (the toddler was still asleep). Finally, they could be fun with or with a Tag Junior reader. I normally don't write reviews for stuff and I'm still waiting for the final review from the Toddler, but so far these cards are worth the investment and I'm excited to find out what the return will be.

My 2 year old received these flash cards and the Tag Jr for her birthday. She really enjoys the flash cards. They are sturdy, (much more so than a cheaper set I bought elsewhere) and I like that the Tag Jr reads the animal on one side and sings a song about the letter on the other side.My one complaint is that the pictures of the animals are very cartoon-like. I have found that my little one responds to pictures of real animals (like in her baby National Geographic books) much better than drawings. The animals on these flash cards are very baby-ish and don't always look like the animal they are supposed to portray. The wolf, for example, looks like a puppy.
I don't regret having these flash cards, but I would prefer that they have pictures of live animals instead of the drawings.

The leapfrog letter factory movie has helped my daughter learn her phonics. I got these cards to help reinforce her learning since they have the letters with the same scenarios from the movie. For example letter A, a monster jumps out of the closet and the A says "Aaaah!" The cards are thick cardboard and pretty durable. The side with the letters from the movie will sing a song "A says a and a says aah" the first time you touch it then will say a little phrase to go with its scenario (C will say it's c... c... c... cold) on the second touch. The backside of the cards have an animal that begins with the letter and an uppercase and lowercase letter in each corner. There is also a game card with four games. 1) Find uppercase letters 2) Find lowercase letters 3) Find the letter that matches the letter sound and 4) silly sentences (you touch two animals and it will say a joke with the two animals)Really great to reinforce learning, comes in a little box to keep them all together. My daughter was so excited to see the letters that match the movie. The only thing I might suggest to the company is putting in holes so that you could put a little ring to keep them together (so I could give them to her on a car ride without worrying one card would fall down and having to fish it out from between the seats.
A side note, maybe it was just me but when I originally received the cards and downloaded the audio onto the pen and first tried to play the flashcards my pen started acting erratically. I've never had an issue with my pen at all before and it has always worked great with her books. I contacted Leap Frog and they were able to resolve everything, great customer service and support!
