Looking for something to stop my 16-yr.-old from destroying his plastic lifeguard whistles, I ran across this item. Figured it was worth a try, although I was concerned about how long it was even going to last after having to replace numerous whistles in a matter of days. It's been a couple of weeks now, and although the chewnoodle has been chewed a bit smaller, it's held up remarkably well! The clip holds it on his whistle lanyard, and he chews the chewnoodle instead of his (now metal!) whistle. I'm really pleasantly surprised, and will definitely order another when he nibbles this one down to nothing. While the price seemed rather high in the beginning, it's definitely worth it, and considering how well it's held up, it will probably make it to the end of the summer, maybe longer. Since it was mostly reviewed by parents of autistic children, or others who had younger kids, I wasn't sure if it was what I was looking for, but I would highly recommend it for older kids and adults as well. My son is a young man! Great product.

My son kills his shirts and coats and anything else he can put in his mouth. This brought that to a halt. It really saved me a lot of money in clothing. This "super" chew noodle is my preferred. The dark blue one and the clear one are both hollow. As a result, if your kid is an aggressive chewer like mine, they will wear out very fast. This one last quite a bit longer since it has a solid core. My son will chew through one in about a month I suppose. Its supposed to be silicon and non-toxic. I keep a few of these in rotation so I can put them in the dishwasher every day to keep em clean.
Edit: I realize now both chews have their place. My son is irritating his teeth with all the chewing. I am now going with the softer 'hollow' chew. I wish I could teach him to chew gum...

It clips to his shirt so it is always there when he needs it. The solid construction gives the firm resistance he was craving. His teachers at school loved it and asked where I got it so they could get them for other students. This product is the best and I will certainly be ordering more!
