These things are pretty amazing! I am a prek teacher, and though I originally purchased them for my 6 year old daughter, I will definitely be buying more for my class. We placed 4 medium sized spider balls in water, and after about 4 hours we had a total of 139 bouncy, slippery spheres emerge! The package lists ideas for experiments using carbonated water, salt, baking soda, etc., and I can't wait to try those out. Another bonus is the spheres can be dried out and reused again and again. Don't buy these from Amazon if you have a local Hobby Lobby. They are around $3 or $4 there. Awesome "sciencey" toy!!

I thought these would grow to be larger, but they only expanded to a size smaller than marbles. Very disappointed.

Christmas present for my girlfriend's son, 17, who likes weird things. This kept him occupied for a few days, his girlfriend and sister (14) too.

Purchased as Christmas gift for a 15 year old. These were so interesting to watch grow and prompted us to read more about polymers on the internet. I would not recommend this product to anyone who has a child that does not understand that these are NOT a food product. I would recommend this product for your "science buff" or a child that the parent wants to engage to become interested in science. Purchase price very reasonable. For a basic, all around demonstration, check out WaterBalz on You Tube. These work on the same concept, but they do leave a residue in the water. I didn't like that, but it rinses off easily,
