I bought this item for my 3year old and he loves it..has really good sound to. I just wish it came with 2 drumsticks instead of 1

Best Deals for Wood Tone/Slit Drum

The quality of the drum is very good and sturdy for a toy. The decorative materials are firmly applied although the edges of the black trimmings will need a small amount of glue to prevent any unraveling. (I feel that if my son notices the edge can be manipulated, he may begin to pull at it.) The sounds are soft for a drum which are a definite plus. If my 12 month old decides to bang on it for hours, it will not drive me crazy.

If you are looking for an alternate to a toy drum with all the bells, whistles and lights, this drum is something to look into.

UPDATE: Edges on black trimming have begun to unravel a bit. We have only had the product for 2 weeks at most. It's minor but still made me remove a star based on quality.

Honest reviews on Wood Tone/Slit Drum

I love the brand Hohner and have many of their harmonica and children's instruments. I was a bit disappointed in the tone on this item. Having other slit drums, I would have to say that this has the least rich tone of all the slit drums I have heard, also this only has 3 notes as opposed to most slit drums that have 4 tones. The kids enjoy playing it and it is very cute, as a musician, I am just a little disappointed.

It's just a solid drum, that's attractive and will last forever. My son loves banging on it, and it's not too loud, even if you hit it really hard. Simple and well done.
