Pro They had a great time making a light house and a train with the parts. They combined the electronic bits with arts and crafts supplies to make things. The idea of how to make circuits and have them respond to input took almost no time. The circuits were almost an afterthought once they created their first one.
The kits area also very, very durable. You can easily assemble them over and over in different configurations. They are safe and really a great design. Kudos to the engineers and designers.
Cons Granted, we didn't get our own kit, but you really seemed to need an instructor to guide them on things you might be able to do. The pieces came home with us but they have not touched them since. Part of this was because there weren't any sample projects with the kits to get them started. You would want to show them kits online to get them started envisioning what is possible. They really need more learning material to go with the kits.
I recommend the kits and plan to buy more pieces despite the price. The kids are begging for the holiday kit after they saw some of the projects online. If the kits weren't so expensive, they would make greats arts and crafts components at a store like Michael's.

Needs more accessories to make up a proper starter kit, especially at this price point, though the idea and possibilities are wonderful!
