Purchased for a 6 year old and she loves it I'm happy with the size of each rock specimen and the decent storage box. Also included a nice diagram of the rock cycle and list of rock type for each specimen. It was what I expected.

Good sample. Has 5 rocks of each Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic. All nice and clean rocks too. My son was excited. However it took a long time to deliver.

I have been looking for a beginner rock collection for my grandson for months. All of the ones, including the ones sold at his school fair had rocks the size of marbles.

The rock size of the rocks in your collection were 1 1/2 to 2 inches and a child could actually hold them in his hand and examine the differences

I would HIGHLY recommend this product!!

Hint..I took a picture of the collection before he touched it in case the labels were removed/switched.

My daughter is very into her collection. I think it is a wonderful starter collection, and I bought a book to go with it that talks about rocks....that helps too but I would think your child would need some kind of interest to begin with.
