There were a couple slight disappointments at first with this product. First, it was a bit smaller than I expected. I believe the dimensions listed are for the box. To put it in perspective, the Gama-Go paper in the picture is a standard sized seed packet. And...my seed packet expired in September 2011. A few months before I received this. :(
But...the seeds took off anyway. I planted them on a Wednesday and came back on a Monday and I had 5" tall wheatgrass! The ceramic "power planter" gets a lot of compliments as well. Of course, I work in electrical engineering, so what this office considers cute and neat might not be the norm ;)
Overall, I would recommend this.

This is a really fun little gift. I bought it for my boyfriend who is in green energy and the grass started growing within a few days. It continued growing really tall and they give you a lot of seeds to plant. The grass, however, doesn't last that long and within a few weeks ours died. But we had a lot of fun with it in the meantime. This would be great for the office. Doesn't need much light or water.

I have purchased many of these; Having friends and family working in the local nuclear energy plant, it's a fun and humorous gift that they all seem to enjoy. Have given several of these as gifts, always a hit. I never got any seeds to grow in the soil packet provided, but others have, so maybe it was just me. There is no drainage hole, so be careful not to over-water. The product is ceramic and as others have said, a little smaller than expected, but great for the desk or windowsill. Cats love it. :-)
