My daughter got this for her 9th birthday. It allowed her to be a scientist, make observations and create progress reports. The final product is fun to play with also.

Finally found this product through various links from pinterest. Ordered these with only a few weeks of school left. I originally saw a link through pinterest of a man "making" these in his kitchen. After viewing and reading further it was a hoax, but it also linked to the creator of this item. He had a great small video segment of light refraction and absorption and evaporation. Turned the whole thing into not only a science lesson, but walked the kids through my own internet excursion. Talked about how you can't trust everything out there. The kids loved having them and really enjoyed the lesson.

I bought these for my 7 year old daughter last year for Christmas . The science experiments were great . We had alot of fun with these , then put them away for another time. Then came Orbeez, all my daughter talk about was them . I just thought to myself what a mess they must make! Well today we went into our crafts closet and found these. She was so excited . Mom they are just like Orbeez but they have more colors . So the science part of this is great . We had a lot of fun and it kept her entertained . They are cheaper then Orbeez plus can learn something too!
