This is a fun toy for my 2 yr old. It sings silly counting songs and he likes that it pulls out and retracts. My only complaint other than how annoying it gets to hear the songs for the 5 millionth time is that you have to hear them at an extremely loud volume. Lots of electronic baby/toddler toys are way too loud. If you put some electrical tape over the speaker, then it's less punishing for the parents and safer for your child's hearing. I wouldn't say it's the coolest counting toy ever, but my son loves the songs it plays.

I V Tech Counting Time Measuring Tape

I bought this item for my nephew for Christmas. He loved it at first glance. The lights, music and the fact that he could pull the tape measure and see the numbers. The only negative that I have is that the tape only goes to the number "8," while the song on the unit counts to the number 10. That was very disappointing from a teaching perspective.

Myt son is almost three, and he had an obsession with stretching out the tape measurer across things. He would get really upset if anyone moved it. He broke it of course! But, to prevent more tape measurers getting destroyed (he always gets me to give him this stuff, he is SO cute!), I got him this. It worked: He stretched it out and tried to hang it over something, like before! Only thing is this is not very long, which makes it safer for a child of course, no strangulation hazard. So it is safe, and fun enough. Its burried right now though in other toys. If I pull it out, he will use it though I am sure. It is loud though, get ready! All these toys are. purchased for my 3 year old grandson but it was too simple for him this toy is better suited for a 1 to 2 year old nicely made.

This is a great toy that my 1 year old boy loves. I just wish it had a volume adjustment it's pretty loud. But he LOVES it!

Updated: this toy broke after just a few short months of very light use. Would not recommend it.
