For whatever reason, there seems to be a severe imbalance of women in the sciences. And science-related fields are so important to where the world is heading. I've been looking for ways to introduce girls to the science fields, as a father of several daughters myself, and this is a great way to get the ball rolling. The age group this is designed for (4-8) is a perfect time for kids to learn how science is the basis of so many of the cool phenomena they see in the world. And this kit covers all kinds of fields from chemistry to biology to physics. Many of the activities are not repeatable, as there are only supplies to perform them once, but that one experiment can be truly life-changing and make them want to learn even more. We have had a lot of fun with this set and I think it's a great way to spend time with your kids and get them introduced to an important part of the world.

I would highley recommend this science kit for any youngster. My daughter is almost 4 and loved mixing all the stuff together. You can disolve colors and use the mixer to change the colors into others. Create snow...very neat. And watch things fizz and create bubbles. Very good kit for the little ones.

I got these for my nephews, 5 & 7 years old. They were very excited about it and had fun looking at it all. The simple stuff, like the popper and magnifying glass, they could play with right away, which I hope sprked their interest in doing some of their experiments with mom. I like educational gifts and this was a great beginner kit for small scientists.

My five year old and I have done several of the experiments and he's enjoyed all of them. I don't know how much of the science is actually sinking in, but he always wants to do more.
