I had to buy three toys similar toys so the kids wouldn't fight over them. This is one of those toys that they go back to repeatedly and is interesting enough to keep their attention for a half hour or so.

The voice can get irritating to adults after awhile (particularly when three are talking at once), but not as bad as some other toys.

Good for teaching colors, music, shapes, and sequencing memory. You flip the knob on the left and the robot does something different like show you how to play a song.

I recommend removing it from it's container (not easy) and replacing the batteries. The batteries on one of my purchases went dead before I took it out of the box.

Our 18 month old kept grabbing his big brother's Alphie, but we had to hide the cards that go with that one so he wouldn't destroy them. He also loves music, so we decided to get him this toy so he could have his own robot to carry around, and its perfect. He can't take advantage of all the educational aspects yet at his age, but he loves this toy and can grow with it. It is smaller than the original Alphie, which was good for us, but be aware if that will be disappointing for you.

The Alphie Maestro-Bot is a great choice for children ages 2-4. My 2 1/2 year old son can follow the directions and make music on his own.

The seller should test these type of items before sending them out to the customer...it has a try me button and it did not work--at all...changed batteries, still nothing!

I am SO suprised on how great this toy is! At first i didnt know all of the functions so i thought it was just another annoying toy that my daughter could torture me with, but now that i have actually sat down and investigated the toy it is really quite awesome. The eyes move with a little knob on the side of its head to reveal music to play with a "match the colors". It teaches kids 3 songs to play, colors, shapes, and has different instrument modes and a "repeat" button on the top of the head. Definitly a toy i feel great about my daughter playing with even though it's loud. A+
