My six year old got this for his birthday and spent the next 36 hours intensively working on mechanics (didn't even open a Lego package) and did so over and over until he really got it and showed everyone in the family what could be done. I highly recommend this kit. I also recommend setting aside a little storage box for this toy because once you tear open the cardboard box, there is no place to keep the pieces.

Cool and fun to build. Works good. Anyone who is interested in motors should get this set. I love it. Not hard to follow instructions

Used the toy to supplement a presentation to a 4th grade class on the basics of electricity. It helped give them a hands-on component to the information. They really enjoyed using it, and based on the questions asked, they learned from it. It comes with an experiment book that was very well organized.

I donated the kit to the school in hopes they will continue to present the topic to the 4th grade in the future.
