I bought this as a last minute Christmas gift and used Amazon Prime to get 2 day shipping so it arrived on Christmas Eve. I have 3 boys and we've gone through all of the "regular" toys at the toy stores. I liked this because it had some educational value, it was calming to watch, not too expensive and unique. It goes great in my sons' "Space" themed room also. I read other reviews that mentioned that theirs did not work or that it made too much noise. I found this toy extremely easy to set up and not noisy at all. There is a small adjustment to be made so that it is not noisy (just by turning a screw by hand at the top). This adjustment is explained very clearly in the instructions and it makes me wonder if the negative reviews from people were because they never read the instructions. This is one of the "coolest" toys I've seen in a long time. My 9 year old loves it. We set it to motion this morning and it's been going for 7 hours now without issue and without noise. I just could not be any happier with this toy. Not only has this toy taught me a little about physics but it has also taught me to take heed to negative reviews that are posted and consider that the source may have not done what they should have which caused the problem.

When we first opened it and put it together it wasn't really doing what it was supposed to. You couldn't tell that it was doing anything and barely moved, but we balanced the rings a little better and it works perfect now. The colors are even prettier in person than what I pictured. Something about it compels you to stare at it for long periods of time. I think it's really cool how when it makes shadows on the wall you can see the color in the shadows. So far, it's still going as of 3:45 p.m. last night! The device is really cool and I like when I wake up to see it still goin however during the night it is fairly noisy if it is not set just right but eventually the friction files the plastic down and it stops making noise. This product is absolutely beautiful, the colors are bright and attractive. Our Grandson spent 2 days with us after Christmas and we had it set up on the bar area in our kitchen, everyone enjoyed it and commented on it.I was very happy with the cost and the quality of the product. I would recommend it, and may even buy one just to have around in our house for two old people in their 60's, LOL. I love the quiet motion of it and the colors.
