Review of Bruin Drum of Instruments
This toy is great! It was a pain in the rear to get out (too much tape), but the noise isn't offensive and the only piece that could be dangerous are the drum sticks. Otherwise, my 8 month old loves to play with the Maracas, the Castanets and the Tambourine. The Whistle is perfect because it's not so small that he could choke on it, but it's not too big that he can't get it in his mouth. Overall, I'd say these are a great product.I bought this for my almost 3 year old who said she just had to have some instruments. This set has enough to keep her occupied and like any musical toy, it gets old for parents long before it gets old for the kids. Her favorite is the trumpet, which is simple enough to use as long as she puts the whole thing in her mouth. The whistle is not overly loud, which is nice, and like another reviewer said, not small enough to choke on. I would say this set is pretty durable. My guess is the drum will break first, as the plastic you bang on is very thin, so a random foot or butt might just go right through it, depending on how rough your toddler is. The colors vary a littlemy tambourine is red and blue, our maracas blue and yellow, our trumpet yellow and red, etc. I actually bought this set for less than on Amazon$24.99 at Toys R Us under the name "Big Band Drum Set." Same product, different name.
