This microscope is a very excellent piece of equipment all the controls are professional and very accurate. The magnification varies between 40 power 2000 power it depends on the lenses. I bought this for a hobby and I couldn't be more thrilled it is very clear and I don't believe I could buy a better microscope for the price anywhere amscope is an excellent company and they build very good equipment.

First the good news. For the price, this is a very nice microscope. The optics are decent, and it is well constructed. For classroom use or amateur science exploration, I would not hesitate to recommend the microscope.

Now for the bad news. The 9.1 MP camera is not worth the money, and the software that comes with it is even worse. Still photography is barely adequate, and video is about what you would expect from a cheap webcam on a slow connection. If you are interested in microphotography or especially for microvideo, purchase the version of this microscope that does not have a camera. With the money you save, buy a camera adapter for your Nikon or Cannon. You will have plenty of cash savings left to purchase slides, stains, books, etc., and you will get MUCH better quality photos and video.

My only other complaint is that there is very little documentation. If you are not very familiar with microscopes, be sure to budget for a couple of good books to help you learn how to use it.

Update: One other disappointment about the microscope is that it is not parfocal. You have to refocus every time you change the magnification. Not enough to bump it down to two stars, but still not the quality I expected.

Since long we use microscopes for professional disease control in honey bees.Now it was time to take pictures from what we are seeing.As always, Amazon is trustful, good bargains and a lot to choice from.We got the Amscope, binocular microscope with the 9 mp camera.After working hard with, the conclusions are: Excellent optical view, knobs and controls work as needed, camera take pictures as best and the included software give us far more then expected. This purchase was a real jump into the future for our duties.It's a pleasure be an Amazon customer.

I recived a camera adaptor that doesnt fit the third visor, it has a code on the side of it and it says FMA050. Fits the camera but not where it has to go with the microscope. Also i think i recived the wrong oculars, cause they dont have any O-ring so they are not very steady in the ocular focusing control.

And came without power cord, i recived the adaptor but no power cord.

Contacted seller and offer me a 20% refund, i asked if they could provide me the code or name of the item i need to buy for the camera to fit but i recived no answer.

If someone could help me would be much appreciated, since i still have a 400$ loss if i dont manage to fix the microscope.

A good microscope for the money. Coming from a lab that had research grade microscopes costing more than $10000, this one meets my high standards for light microscopy.
