It is sturdy, large, the net appears secure, and comfortable for her to hold.

I bought this for my three year old, she loves it. She uses it to carry just about anything. The net is large enough for her to put an 18" doll in it, which I did not expect.

Just like all the Melissa and Doug items I have purchased in the past this is well made and really cute. The net is sturdy... and my daughter likes to catch lizzards rather than butterflies, so this works great!

We were really disappointed with this product. It's cute and does look like it's well-made. However, my duaghters discovered a major design flaw. It does not lay flat on the ground by design! So they could catch butterflies in the air, but then when they laid the net down to transfer them to a butterfly nursery, they would invariably escape through the gap created by the net design (a combination of the plastic round butterly at the net base and the angle of the net). It was so frustrating that we are returning. I suggest resisting the cuteness of this product and going with a more functional design.
