1. The advertised picture is false. This board from BuddyGoody comes in a OEM package, which is a static bag. The authentic Arduino would come in the original Arduino box.
2. There are only several decals on the board, but the decals on the BuddyGoody board use three different types of fonts! For example, the decal "POWER" is using Arial, but "ANALOG IN" is using Times New Roman. The authentic Arduino only use one type of font consistently.
3. The onboard LED of BuddyGoody board looks plastic and impure. The authentic Arduino's onboard LED looks a sold and opaque.
4. The Italy map on the backside of BuddyGoody board looks funny. The boot does not look like made in Italy, but China!
The only reason that I am not returning BuddyGoody board is that the chipset seems real, it did test ok with a simple sketch, and this OEM board sells cheaper than the board sold by NKC Electronics and made by Arduino, which I assume is authentic.

First off, if you don't know what an Arduino is head over to and find out. This is my first microcontroller (at the time of review) so I can't really compare it's performance to others. I can say that self taught but moderately experienced in electronics and programming this by and far exceeded my expectations. I was up and running the first day and haven't experienced any problems since. The potential of these little boards is huge and I'll be ordering more soon. Be aware that you will need a USB-B to USB-A male-male cable, if you have a printer it probably uses one.
As far as specifically buying this on Amazon, it came sealed in the original box from Italy and the price here was a few bucks lower than anywhere else I looked when I purchased, so no complaints there.
Best Deals for Arduino UNO Rev.3
I've been into electronics since I was a kid and I'm in my 50s now. I hadn't dabbled in hobby hardware very much for the last few years, have most worked with test equipment and software at work. So the Arduino is a really cool way to put some smarts into your projects. The programming is pretty simple, but you will need to google Arduino and download the software. There's tons of software and examples out there, the Arduino is very popular. There are a lot of different Arduino boards out there. This one, the Arduino UNO is the base model and a good one to get started with. The Rev.3 is the lastest version. I also recommend "The Arduino Cookbook, 2nd revision" by Michael Margolis, well worth for getting started and for future reference.Honest reviews on Arduino UNO Rev.3
This is not my first Arduino product, so I wasn't at all surprised by the quality or functionality. It's just what I expected, and it works well, and offers ample opportunity to expand and experiment with electronics and functional programming. I wish these were around when I was a kid (and that I had the money to invest in them!).Great product. Great learning tool. Great front-end to almost any interactive programming project.

I was looking up some specs for my en-route Arduino Uno, when I cam across this:I got really worried. The Diecimila I had owned previously looked and worked just fine, but pictures don't lie.
I was relieved to find that my Uno measured up to everything I had come to expect of Arduino. The unit has no cosmetic flaws. Even the silk screen is crisp and more than readable! I tweaked the frequency for "Blink", and it loaded and ran just fine from the IDE. (It seems that Blink comes pre-loaded, perhaps as a test routine.)
Apparently, Moogle was just unlucky.
