This globe is very nice. But it has one problem, it's outdated. The newest country South Sudan is missing. The people who make world maps and globes should always be on the lookout for new countries; so that their products are not outdated.

I wanted a new globe that would easily fit on a book shelf. This one is a bit smaller than a standard student globe, so it fits perfectly. The wood base and antique appearance are attractive. My only complaint is that the gold parts that hold the globe are made of plastic, not metal, so it might not hold up under rough use.

It lookes beautiful, has nice design, and doesn't cost a lot. I like how you can touch all the mountains on the globe, since its surface isn't smooth, it has like reliefs where mountains are located. We like this globe very much! When it arrived, it didn't have a single scratch (I always like to point it out, because not everything I order arrives in excellent condition)!

I got my Replogle 9 inch desk globe 18 years ago. (yes, you read that correctly). It is on my desk and gets regular use. It has held up very well, limited fading, the gold still appears nice as does the wood base. The center tape on theequater has peeld a bit.... gives it chracter..... and well, yes several countries have changed...LOL.. This a is a solid product worth the investment.
