The description says 5+, but honestly it's better for 6+...unless your young child is a gifted reader. I realize he will learn and grow into using it better, so I'm fine with it and he has fun just messing around with it. A bigger issue is the fact that you can barely see what's on the screen. Oddly, there is a contrast control button (useless) but not a brightness control. It is practically impossible to see what's on the screen, it is so dark. I'm disappointed in that because if it were lit properly it would be a great toy to bring on road trips, but that's only the case if it's daylight.
I would have only ranked this 3 stars if my son didn't love it so much, but he loves it mainly because it is Iron Man.

We ordered this toy for our 5 year grandson for Christmas, He is a big "super hero" fan and loved it. There is room to grow with this toy, some of the games he is able to do, others he will understand better in the next year or so. I bought this for my four year old boy who loves Ironman and he loves it. But I don't. It's not very educational. It has more games than really anything educational. My Grandson loves it, I don't think he old enough to figure out how to get from on level to the next. But he does try to figure it out by himself. he's four.
