My 8 year old son got this for Christmas and we finally got around to opening it. You get tiny packages of dydrated "snow powder" "magic snow" "snow cubes" "snowballs" and decorations. Now, the instructions are a little unclear about which is the powder and which is the magic snow...they look identical in their packages. It is confusing until you reconstitute them about which is the stuff you'll be making the snowmen out of. And the other stuff seems to be just for laying on the ground underneath the snowmen. One did turn into realistically looking and feeling sparkly cold snow! So I assumed that was the one to make the snowmen out of. I followed the water to powder ratio suggested but the snow did not stick together to be able to form round snowmen shapes. The other packet turned out to be the consistancy of slush. The cubes did turn into big ice cube looking things, but we were unable to get them to stack and make anything like an igloo. The balls grew pretty big as well. Anyway, he was never able to make the snowmen but that didn't bother him, he did have fun with it anyway, just playing with it and squishing it and combining the substances. Now it's in containers and he's watching them every day to see if they'll dry out. It's been 4 days and still looks the same to me. Warning to parents: this is a messy activity! If you don't contain the play to one area it'll get all over the place. I laid down a big sheet of aluminum foil on the kitchen table. Paper towels will just get soaked. All in all, he says he really likes this toy!Best Deals for DuneCraft Science Fun Kits - Make Your Own Snowman
I decided to get this for my boyfriend as a valentine's day gift. He lives in a high rise building which is impossible for him to enjoy the fun of making snow men. I ordered this and we made snowmen together. The magic happened after you mix the snow powder with water. Everything expands! Even the eyes expand!!! Super easy. Just a small amount of snow powder. You can make lots of snow and snowmen. With some candles and lights, it became a romantic snowy valentine's day!The instruction claimed that we can reuse the product. It took forever to dry out...
