My kids really enjoyed this kit. They are 4 and 5.... but older kids would benefit too..The 5 year old was just "getting it" , while the 4 year old just played around and could use the letters....They loved putting the letters together and creating words and word families... I would suggest having the basic reading rods set that has the pictures on it, to go along with this set...
