These flash cards use the Hot Dots pen to self-correct your child as they learn. Using one of the flash cards, the child will choose the correct answer to the problem presented. They touch the circle next to the answer they select using the pen. The pen will flash a red light and/or make a sound if they are wrong. If they are correct, the pen will flash a green light and/or make a sound.

The cards are double-sided, so there is a problem on each side. The answers are not on the cards themselves. The answers are given on a separate sheet of paper included with the cards.

The cards have a white plastic index-card size case to store them in.

The cards are not colored, only black and white. There are drawings on the cards of a cuckoo clock, A digital alligator clock, a round clock, a firetruck digital clock, a dog digital clock.

On some cards, the child must read the face of the clock and then select the correct time from the choices given. On other cards, the child must read the clock face and then select the written-out time from the sentences given, and on others, the child reads a digital clock and selects the corresponding clock face.

I would recommend these for first or second graders for reinforcement of school work. My children found them much more interesting than a simple workbook approach.

The cards do not come with the Hot Dots pen, so you will need to purchase that if you do not have it already.

Students with special needs can learn more because this fits under "errorless learning". They never learn the wrong time because the hot dot pen corrects them. They only learn the right time. This makes my job much easier. I highly recommend this product!

I thougt this would be a very good educational gift. But guess what, it doesn't come with the pen. It should be written e large and huge letters. I felt cheated.

Every child should have these flash cards. These were a Christmas gift and have not started to use them. I expect that my grandchild will learn quickly from these cards by using the pen.

I bought these cards and the pen and find that they work well for special needs students. They find the sounds from the pen reinforcing and I feel like they stay with the activity longer.
