I have twin boys and both like it, one loves it. We also have an old version of Lamaze's clutch cube; Same idea to this pyramid but the pyramid is more interesting to them. It has more black (more contrast) and the entire toy crinkles. It also has a face on it. The boys smile at it. It is more stimulating than the Lamaze cube.
