When I ordered this, I was unsure what or how many I would be receiving. When they arrived, I was very pleased. I got well over 50 fossilized ammonites in a variety of sizes. Most were very rough and often still had bits of the matrix attached. They varied in color and pattern, and some contained a variety of minerals. A select few were in near-perfect condition, but most had minor chips. The image is representative of the nicer ones. About a quarter of them were pieces, but they were still attractive. A good cleaning worked wonders. This was the sort of thing you would find on sale in bags at a local rock shop. Great for a party, a classroom, or a 'fossil dig' with students. They may also be useful in art projects or in making jewelry, and I bet a science-minded kid (or adults) would love some. A great buy for anyone who likes fossils.

Needed these for a fossil lab. Great assortment, more natural state than "polished"products. Kids were able to see actual fossils as they would be found in rock layers. Kids loved it, thanks!
