I bought this great drum for my 2 year old and he loves banging away on it. Like the box says, "For kids from 5 to 85", I find myself playing with it too. Quality percussion toy made in the USA, well worth every penny.

First the photo does not match, it is close, but the bottom is not rounded, it is square. Also the head is high quality but it is a bit tight and has too much high pitched ringing. I suspect it will soften up with age.

This drum is well made and will stand up to lots of abuse. I doubt any kid under 4 could damage the head.

My daughter started banging away at the early age of 1 and would actually try and play along to music!! So I knew I needed a drum that was super sturdy and sounded good. She lost interest in the baby drums and would only play her father's conga drum (which was too tall for her). This drum is AWESOME and she loves it! She has banged away, sat on it, stood on it, thrown it, adults have messed with it... and it's now been almost 2 1/2 years and it still looks new! I noted 5 stars on "educational" because my husband and I are musicians and it's been fun teaching her different beats :)
