I purchased this toy for my 2 year old. She absolutely loves it (as does my 8 month old and my 3 year old). All three of them use it differently, exploring the pieces (they are very smooth) and the different ways to stack them. They love that the base rocks, making the tree slightly unstable for stacking. The quality of the toy is excellent, making the Melissa and Doug stacking toys seem cheap. This toy will easily be passed along to cousins and younger children as mine grow older. Likely, no one will realize the toy's age.

I bought this for my 16-month-old son about 2 months ago because of his fascination with stacking things. He adores this toy. It is such great quality because it is made by Plan Toys. We have already ordered him several other Plan Toys gifts for Christmas because of the exceptional quality. The wood is dyed, not painted so it won't chip and the wood is soft and smooth. The pieces naturally right themselves when they are stacked from the top so that you get a perfect tree every time. My son loves to experiment with putting on different lengths in different order to see how the shape changes. If you are reading this...buy this toy! You will not be disappointed!

My daughter got the Plan Toys Stacking Cone (another GREAT stacking toy) for Christmas when she was 9 months old. The cone is one of her favorite toys, so we got her the tree for her first birthday. The tree is harder to stack than the cone, so definitely glad we have both. Also, the tree branches can be stacked in any order (whereas the cone pieces needs to be stacked in the same order), which is a lot of fun for her. The plan toys stackers really are beautiful. The wood is dyed (not painted), so the paint doesn't chip off like it does the Melissa and Doug wooden toys. Our daughter is 18 months old and still plays with the tree and the cone almost every day. Would definitely recommend this stacker for your little one or for baby gifts!

We purchased this for our son for his 1st birthday and it was the first toy that he began stacking after blocks. The design is simple for such a young child not to get confused or distracted by other features. It also looks great in his playroom. The wood finish is very smooth and bright vibrant colors. My 15-month old grandson plays with this for about 15 minutes at a time--a very long period for a toy to entertain a baby. The design is ingenious; even if he doesn't get the branches lined up exactly, the notches are balanced in a way that makes the piece slide into place. The only caveat is that the tree trunk is quite solid; if the baby decides to throw it or slug somebody with it, significant damage may result (to the target, not the trunk)!
