Gift for my 3 year old grand daughter. Uploading new books to the Tag pen is simple and easy really well thought out! Was able to do this in minutes without using any instructions at all. Grand daughter literally spends hours using the "pen" to listen to this book and the two others we first got for her. She seems to enjoy just clicking on various pictures to hear what is said and listening to the stories. She has not had much interest in the games, but that will probably come later. We have already purchased and loaded four more books for her. I only wish I had thought of this first!

I'm guessing you know how the Tag system works if you're reading this, so I'm focusing the review on the content of the book rather than the system itself. Go to LeapFrog TAG Reading System Green (or the purple one or Toy Story one) for device-specific reviews.

This book presents an abridged version of the story from the Tinker Bell movie from 2008. It starts with Tinkerbell arriving in Pixie Hollow, being identified as a tinker, and trying to adopt a different talent so she can go to the mainland (all in the order presented in the Tinkerbell movie). Then she sits down to think and sees part of a music box shining in the leaves, puts it together with other pieces, and realizes that she is a tinker as she assembles the music box (which leaves out the whole thistles issue and conflict with Vidia from the movie, which bothered my daughter in the first read but then didn't faze her). She is surprised when she finds out she can go to the mainland to return the music box. The final line is "Tinker Bell learned an important lesson: Always be true to yourself."

Things I like:

The images are mostly from the movies, which my daughter enjoys

The story is familiar

Things I don't like:

I feel like the whole "be true to yourself" thing is a little overdone, cheesy, and vague; I think they could have used a better, less cliche moral for the story

All in all, it's a good title!

My 5-year-old granddaughter just loves her tag books and this one

was especially fun for her because she wants to be Tinker Bell when

she grows up!

Honest reviews on LeapFrog LeapReader Book: Disney Fairies Tinker Bell's True Talent

My daughter loved this book (and the tag reading system in general). It is quite durable for a non-cardstock book and she still reads it (although now without the tag system).

Cady liked the book and she loves her tag stuff...the only problem is they want you to go to the internet all the time to get rewards and that is time consuming and Cady does not care about the rewards that much. She just want to use the tag books.
