These are sent in sheets of rubber foam that the letters and punctuation have to be punched out of. I did not find them hard to punch out just a little time consuming. It took 45 minutes from start to finish to get them all done. I only had a few minor disappointments. The capitol I and J do not have lines on the top and bottom respectively so the "I" doubles as a capitol I and lower case l. Also the J is the same for upper and lower case. You just move the j down and put a dot on top to make it lower case. The p is also the same size and is just moved up or down on the "line" to make it upper or lower case. That being said, overall, I am very pleased and am sure they will get lots of use!

My daughter is into learning about letters now that she can spell BUG all by herself. When she starts playing with the letters on the fridge and she needs lots of the same letters, I direct her here. She doesn't last long, but she tries to spell words. My only problem, if I had to state one, is that it would be nice if the letters were a tad thicker. But, overall I see this product helping a child from letter identification, through paragraph writing. Its awesome.Best Deals for Lauri Toys Mini Alphabet Avalanche-500 Letters
I had purchased this product for my child. When it arrived I was disappointed to see that the letters had not been cut out but were still punched/ attached to the original foam sheet. It took a fair bit of work for my child and I to finally remove each letter from the foam sheet.Honest reviews on Lauri Toys Mini Alphabet Avalanche-500 Letters
It comes with 6 red, blue & yellow foam sheets of cut letter that you have to take apart. Upper case letters, lower case letters and comas/apostrophes. Lots of little pieces (separate dots for i's, comas, etc), so be careful around real little ones and vacuum cleaners! Price is great for what you get. My son loves them.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Lauri Toys Mini Alphabet Avalanche-500 Letters
I bought this as a tool to help my son learn his spelling words and practice his spelling words in different ways. Instead of just writing them out a million times, this allows him to find all the letters to the words on his list and have a tactical connection to the word. When you first get the box, you do have to pop out all 500 foam pieces by hand. That can get a little annoying, but you can get started after just a couple sheets of it. They come in red, blue, and yellow in both upper and lowercase letters. There are also punctuation pieces in there, so I imagine as my son gets older he'll be able to "write" out whole sentences with the pieces.
