The guitar is much smaller than expected even after reading the description. My daughter loved the princess theme but thought it was not a "real" guitar.

I bought for my then 3 yr old daughter. She loves it and even my 22 month old attempts to play it. I know nothing about musical instruments, but I would assume that this is very basic. If you are wanting one in hopes or your child actually learning to play with, I may look at others. This one served our purpose: Cute and fun.

Bougt this for my 5-year old, she said to give it five stars. It is much tougher than other instruments has held up to lots of abuse. Sounds pretty good too.
