Starting off a quick tip to the buyer, when buying an educational device, keep in mind the less it costs, the smaller and less detailed it is. "Real" models used in schools and offices range in the hundreds and thousands of dollars.
At 20.00 per model, this set is an excellent value for the money. You get four desk size models, about 8 to 15 inches tall with detachable parts, a stand, a guide, and some fun trivia. Each one is boxed individually, so you could divide them as gifts between multiple children/youth, or wrap each one to make it like four gifts to one young learner. The parts are small, some 3/4 inch even. So make sure it is kept away from where pets and small children can get a hold of them. The models are plastic, and feature the essential types of information. For example on the skeleton, you will have the femur, but not the 23 major landmarks on the femur a college level anatomy student would study. It is an excellent learning tool for ages 8+, and an intriguing (and affordable!) reference for the everyday person who studies the sciences for fun.

I was disappointed to discover that some of the mating pieces didn't quite fit. (The insertion piece is bigger than the hole it goes in.) The connecting pieces are a bit fragile, too. They are a flexible plastic, so they should have some give, but they are still easily broken. The puzzles are smaller than I expected, but I don't mind. I love the tiny details!
