The first thing you need to know is that I have never held a spyglass in my life. That being said, this this is rad! It showed up well ahead of schedule, and I am active duty military stationed overseas. Fantastic purchase experience and I will be ordering from them again.

-Pros

It is very heavy and has a solid feel to it.

The piece is beautiful with the antique brass finish. It looks exactly like the photo advertises!

The cap fits extremely snug on the lens and won't fall off on accident; it is also a nice solid brass.

The magnification is wonderful and the piece is %100 functional, should that be your interest.

When I extended the entire unit, I could feel how tightly the sections were held together.

It drew out smoothly, but not easily. It wouldn't slide out on its own, and it wont adjust while you are using it unless you push or pull intentionally.

-Cons

The leather case it came in is solid and tight enough, but the strap is thin and weak; I removed and tossed it.

Although the finish is a beautiful antique brass, it also has a high gloss coating. Takes away from the aged look a little.

-Overall

Great piece for a display or a gift for a young explorer! I will use it for decor, so the cheap strap didn't take away from my satisfaction. I would highly recommend this spyglass to anyone, but with the disclaimer of replacing the strap if you plan on taking it out treasure hunting.

The only flaw is that the strap is rather flimsy. But the scope looks authentic, and the child for whom we purchased it was thrilled. Focusing is done by turning or extending the smallest section of the scope.

This will be a gift for my son. The quality look and feel of this product is great. The price is really low for what you are getting. Although I am having a hard time getting it to focus clearly.

Yepp, it was a great buy. And not just for the price, it was a nice quality heavy metal, it looked and felt antique, and I loved the leather case. I guess the strap is thin, but you're not buying it for the strap. I would recommend this to anyone one. But rememberyou're buy an antique replica, so the lens will be purposely eroded and blurred out to a small degree. If you are wanting this for someone who will do some heavy duty exploring, I'd contact the seller to see about an unaltered lens if possible.
