This is a really cool thingy but it really sucks that it says you can use ydour own ants, which is why I got it. If you use regular ants they don't tunnel at all.

Worked really well, and was a big hit with kids, including for show-and-tell. The top stayed on tight, and the color of the gel and the shape of the thing really shows off the tunnels nicely. In our experience, harvester ants last about about 6 weeks. You can order more ants and more gel from ant suppliers, just google it. I ordered the ants at the same time as the ant farm, so everything arrived at about the same time.
