Bead Drum Review

We first found this drum in our local library Children's section. Our 15 month old special needs foster son was completely taken with it. There are not allot of toys that hold his attention, but this one certainly did. He cried bitterly when we put it away. I ordered it for Christmas, and it arrived very quickly, even with the standard shipping. I opened it for him to see if he would still be fascinated with it, and he was. It's not an overly 'loud' obnoxious type toy, but it is loud enough that he can hear it. (He's not deaf but considered HOH). This drum held his attention for a solid 20 minutes. No small feat with this child. It's a durable plastic with beads inside. It's pitch is that of a snare drum. It's brightly colored, and thin, making it easy for small hands to grip. This is one of the few toys I can highly recommend and am impressed with. While it's not 'huge' it's a decent size and being thin would fit nicely in a diaper bag. A younger child might enjoy this as a rattle-type toy, while even a preschooler can enjoy the beads jumping around.
