My 4 year old loves this game. She had pet pals 2 and loved it and kept saying she wants pet pals 1.

My 4-year old daughter LOVES this game. It is very easy and she can do it with minimal to no help from me. Even my 6-year old son likes to play this game, it has a high "cuteness" factor and great for the little ones!

Both my 4 year old daughter and 5 year old niece own the Pet Pals game. It is their favorite game to play on their Leapster Explorers. They don't even realize that they are learning while they are playing. The graphics are cute, and my daughter is learning letter and number recognition. I highly recommend this game.

I chose this game after watching the game trailers and I must say this was the right choice wish I had watched the trailers before I bought the first game. My daughter did start the game on her own out of pure excitement s she named and chose a dog without realizing what she was doing. She did want to switch but she is not too bothered by it, so if you want to make sure you have a choice start the game for your child. She is 5 so she understood and if she wants to use a different dog she can choose to play as a guest but now she loves her doggy so not a big deal. The games so far seem to be great and they hold her attention. The responsibility it teaches comes from having to walk the dog in order to get money to buy things with. On the walk you can also make friends with other dogs while choosing between upper/lower case letter paths. Theres a dress up part and although it says to pick a certain amount of items, my daughter insists on making a full outfit which casues her to miss out on stars. And I know some people are sensitive to what their child hears so I must warn those that in the store there is an item that when clicked on the voice that names them says"super underwear" we found it hilarious but might not be the case for all parents. I havent noticed any math yet other than having to know what you can afford with the money you have, it may be on a different grade level or I just havent seen her play that yet. She played this for a long time I was starting to think the explorer was a bad choice but i guess it was just the princess frog game. Now I dont feel like i wasted money if your child is a pet lover then this might be a good choice for you.

We gave this to our 5 year old grandson for Christmas. He really enjoys playing with it, and it is a good learning game.
