I ORDER THIS FOR MY SONS SCHOOL PROJECT, I DIDN'T WANT TO MAKE THE PLANETS SO I THOUGHT JUST BUYING THEM WAS EASIER FOR ME AND HIM, I RECEIVED THEM FAST, ALL THE PLANETS HAVE THEIR NAMES ON, THEY ARE SMALLER THAN WHAT I THOUGHT BUT THAT'S FINE, I DON'T THINK IS A GOOD TOY FOR KIDS BECAUSE THE PLANETS ARE VERY SMALL AND ANY KID CAN CHOKE ON THEM.Best Deals for Safari Ltd The Solar System Science Kit
Arrived in a timely manner, only three days. A bit smaller than I expected even though there isn't anything in the description concerning size. I like good close-ups but sometimes they give a false impression of size. But that's going to work out for the 3-year old recipient that's continually asking questions about outer space and the planets. Good quality and painted nicely, with maybe Mercury being an exception. Mercury is painted greyish and I always assumed its proximity to the sun would make it red, but what do I know?It was received with an outburst of enthusiasm and made this grandpa very happy to witness this. I was also pleased to see that he quickly noticed that there were eight planets, instead of the nine that he expected. He had picked up on that somewhere, either through a book or perhaps a TV show. Scary smart this one is, then we had to explain why there is no Pluto. That's not as easy as it may sound.
And to my profound relief it stated that this product is phthalate-free. No, I have no idea what that is either. Sounds pretty important though. I sure hope no phthalate was injured in the production.
We plan to make a mobile from this. I think that is pretty cool because it will always be within sight and not crammed into a toy box to be seen only once in a while. It's also something I wish I had when I was a kid.
