The cards are made of a thick cardboard material. It is stiff, but I can definitely see a kid bending it without much difficulty. The laces have plastic tips making the tip narrow, and easier to thread the holes in the cards. My toddler is able to thread easily without assistance from me. It doesn't hold my child's attention at two years old, but maybe it will get more play in the next year, we'll see.

I'd recommend these to anyone with toddlers. It's the first toy I've found that kept them busy ALL through church. They love lacing themselves, but they especially love it when I make a mess out of it and they get to undo all of my lacing.

These shaped lace up cards are made of heavy cardboard and can provide children hours of fun. Great for eye hand coordination. I am very happy with this product and would purchase from this vender again.
