I use these letters with my students. Its easy to sort vowels and consonants. We use them for blending, segmenting, and spelling. The kids like using magnets. It would be great for families to have at home for carry-over work.

The magnets are too weak. When used on an easel, some of the letters won't stay upright. The magnet pulls them around until they hang side-ways or upside down. Not pleased. Will sell them at our next garage sale for next to nothing. Note, the letters are also small. I knew this, but still was thinking they'd be bigger.

the letters are only an inch big. I suppose it is a good personal desk set but I was looking for something to work on the white board

This is a great set, a really fantastic learning tool, but I found that we really needed two sets to make more than very simple words. So I would definitely recommend this, but would say, get two or three sets so your kids and use them to write whole sentences and really develop their language skills.
