I am a Director of Religious Education for grades 1 through 12. Although this is classified as a 'toy', because it has to do with articles used at Mass, I feel that this is more of a teaching tool, and not something to be 'played' with.

Our students in first and second grade will handle these pieces and use them in the proper setting to see how Father uses the real articles at Mass. They will learn the name of each piece, why we use it and what it is used for. Each piece will be handled with respect (so when they get into the 3 grade and beyond, and handle the real articles, the ground work will already have been laid).

In all honesty, we have not yet starting working with the 'Mass Kit' so I do not know how it will hold up. I have handled it so I can tell you that it seems very sturdy, constructed of 'parachute' material, and very well made.

This looks to be a wonderful teaching tool for Religious Education, but once again, I must say, please do not just buy this and let children play with it without proper instruction!

I am a catechist for kindergarten students. It is a very well made and worthwhile set that makes learning about the Mass fun! My students went crazy with excitement and it has really helped them take notice of what goes on at Mass and what the priest is doing with all these "dishes"

Best Deals for My Mass Kit

Our religious education director loaned us the Mass Kit so we could use it at home. Our son is 7 years old and on the autism spectrum, and we have been trying to get him more interested in mass and church. He loved this kit! He went through each item, touching everything and asking what they were. He liked being able to handle the "hosts" also, since he walks up to communion with us every week. We did end up taking this to mass with us, and he set it all up right next to him in the pew. I gave it 4 stars because I would like the little book to be bigger and I wish the whole kit were a little bit less expensive.

We bought this for our son. He asked for one for his birthday. The Mass kit came with everything he needed to play pretend. We found the the felt is heavy, and that the carrying case is very convenient for him to pack up and go. It has been a nice way to teach and him learn about the different parts of the Mass (How and Why the Mass is the way it is). I would recommend this product to others without hesitation. I don't know and don't care if my sons a priest, but he has enjoyed the world of make believe with this product.

We are always looks for ways to enhance our children's Faith development and this kit has to be one of the best things we have purchased for our son (age 4). All of the items are authentic, made of quality material, and entice our son to engage in imaginative play. We highly recommend!
