Lets be honest for a moment; This is a cheap telescope.

OK that's over with. Now more reality; You want to get into Astronomy but are on a budget. To build your own 4.5 reflector 'scope (the cheapest way to get one) you would need to buy quite a few components; Focuser, eyepieces, mirror mounts and secondary mirror at least. Those parts would cost $100 alone second hand or on ebay. That means you are left to making your own mirror ($30+ and a lot of work), making the tube, mounts and tripod. After weeks of work tracking down componants and construction where are you? Well if you are a skilled wood worker and have good metal working skills you may have a good 'scope. Or you have issues and are back to the drawing board. Now imagine buying this scope. In 30 minutes you are ready to stargaze. Fast forward, you are really into astronomy now and have discovered some of the short comings of an inexpensive 'scope. Well by now you know several things. You know what the short comings are and what is needed to fix them. You know you're into stargazing and it not a passing fancy. You got to know other stargazers and made "network" contacts. So now you can decide where to go. Buy a more expensive 'scope (2 or 3 times the price). Learn some skills to upgrade this one, get a better mirror, better eyepieces etc. Slowly as your budget allows, you have a fine 4.5 scope. Or you have decided to spend the $400 for a larger (6 inch) 'scope. Bottom line is if you don't have a lot of cash or want to make sure your interest is worth the expense this is the way to go. Scopewise gave me great communication and very fast shipping. The product was easy to assemble and set up, no tools required. (Though a phillips screwdriver and pliers can be handy for final "tweeks")
