These rocks and fossils are perfect for a young geologist! The samples are rather small, but if you have a child who is interested in collecting, this is a great place to start. My 7 year old uses them along with reference books and posters to learn more about rocks and minerals. Note: You must be careful with each collection, as the samples are simply glued to cardstock and could come off if handled roughly.

My 12 year old son got this for Christmas and loves it. He is a science and history buff and enjoys collecting things. He was thrilled with this high quality set. The rocks and fossils are well-labeled and are in sturdy cases. Should last a long, long time.

I bought this at a shopping center known as the Tamarack in Beckley, WV (well, the "fossil collection" one). It cost me $8.75. I think it is worth so much more. It's invaluable in fact. Owning a trilobite is being able to have and hold the world's first invertebrate animal and relative of modern arthropods. These creatures largely went extinct during the Permian period.
