I purchased this product for my boyfriend's eight year old daughter, who had said she wanted a locking diary (as most little girls of eight do...). After looking at all of the diaries with pictures of fairies and hearts and dolls and cartoon characters (bleh), I came across this product, the Decorate My Own Locking Diary Kit. This is excellent for young girls between six and ten, as it provides the following benefits:

My 5th grade niece loved this gift. I gave it to her for Christmas and she was already opening it and decorating it before I left her house. I would recommend this as a cute gift for 9-11 year olds. Very cute!

I don't even consider this to be a one star. This was total garbage and I could have found a better one for a dollar at the dollar store! It did not meet up to my expectations and the designing material was garbage Ugh...very unsatisfied costumer and my daughter was very disappointed!
