My son picked this out when we went to an author signing at the SoHo Scholastic store for the Magic School Bus series. He loves it!!! His favorite activities (which there are many) are the ones with the balloon. He loved watching my hair stand up on ends as he learned about positive charge. He also loved the activity making water jump and making cereal dance. He actually ran around the house looking for more object to make dance. The circuit board is not much, but does it's job and was not expected to be over the top for the age group and price range. So many activities that are fun and engaging to keep a young one's mind all aglow with curiosity.

A friend of mine gave this to my daughter as a Christmas gift and we have not been able to put it down! She loves the balloon experiments and was fascinated with learning about atoms. She is will be 5 in one month so I am very excited about her "getting a jump" on the learning game in science!

I got this to do some fun stuff with my 5-year old grandson, who is, may I say, a bit precocious. We worked through the exercises which came with this set and found them to be interesting and fun. However, the flimsy cardboard pieces, tiny cheap alligator clips (which are very difficult for 5-year-old and grandmother alike to grasp and use) and other cheap components make this kit way overpriced in my opinion. I think they could have upgraded the components considerably without adding much to the manufacturing costs and still made a decent profit.

This is a fabulous idea but the kit was missing parts to do the experiments! Seriously? ... It wasn't pricey enough to make a big stink and ask for another but incredibly disappointing.
