I bought this for my son's first birthday and he loves it. It sings 3 songs, does the numbers, letters, shapes, and makes these little robot noises between each. The toy is holding up pretty great considering the amount of abuse it had in only a week. My son tries to play with him while he moves, and he also banged it into the floor a couple times. A few times I thought he was going to break it, but it is still in great condition. It is easy for him to play with. Also on the bottom there is a button so if toby is lying down, he won't move, but if he is standing he will move. I personally think that this toy is better than leap frog brand toys.

This toy is great! My son, Drew, loves playing with it. He gets so excited everytime he pushes one of the buttons & another letter, number, shape, or song is said or sang (also, appears on the screen). Drew is learning the basics really well with this toy. I recommend this to anyone since it teaches in such a fun way!

My 2 year old son received this toy for Christmas, and although it is not the most educational toy on the planet, he seems to like it alot. It sings, and counts, and says the letters of the alphabet. The shapes features is a bunch of lighted dots trying to form squares and circles, and doesn't do a very good job. Overall, it is a very durable toy, and fun too. And it has TWO volume levels...even at the highest volume level it doesn't annoy anyone in my family.

I'll break this down for everyone.

It does letters, shapes, numbers, and music. It's very durable. My daughter has throw it into walls, against the kitchen table, and even spilled juice on poor toby's face.

There's a little "button" on the bottom, almost like a trigger. When sitting on a flat surface, that "trigger" gets pushed in and Toby will dance while he sings. Cute, but, this is where you have to be careful. When my daughter was younger (crawling), she made Toby dance and his hand poked her in the eye. He's not sharp at all, but, it did scare her. She didn't go near him for a week till I told Toby to apologize.

Now, onto the features..

It has an alphabet button you press for each letter, and displays the letter on Toby's little screen on his tummy.

It does the same for shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle). It displays the shape on the screen so the child can hear and see what shape he's talking about.

Again, it does the exact same for numbers. 1-10

For the music part. It sings the ABC's (and displays each letter on the screen), and these other cute songs.. I'll actually be a dork and type out the lyrics (because I hear it ALL the time since she plays with it every single day)

"5 little babies, playing in the park.. one saw a dog that began to bark. mommy said look quickly, before it goes away. they all had fun in the park today.

4 little babies, playing in the park.. one saw a bird that began to chirp. daddy said look quickly, before it goes away. they all had fun in the park today.

3 little babies, playing in the park.. one saw a bunny that began to hop. mommy said look quickly, before it goes away. they all had fun in the park today.

2 little babies, playing in the park.. one saw a bee that began to buzz. daddy said look quickly, before it goes away. they all had fun in the park today.

1 little baby, playing in the park.. one saw a squirrel that began to bounce. mommy said look quickly, before it goes away. they all had fun in the park today."

and this sweet little lullaby...

"me and my teddy, we are best friend. we dance and we sing, until the day ends. when it's bedtime, the moon shines bright. so tuck us in gently, till next daylight."

Again, great toy for little ones. :)

Toby is cute but I wished I would have waited a year and just went for Kasey the Kinderbot. Toby is very basic in his teaching. My 2 year old didn't learn anything new from Toby except the 3 songs. Toby only teaches numbers 1-10. When the ABC button is pressed, Toby will say a letter and display it. If you don't keep pressing the button, he says 2 more letters and then will say "bye-bye". I wish when you pressed the button that Toby would go through the whole alphabet without having to keep pushing the button over and over again. It's like that with the numbers and shapes too. My toddler's Toby happened to break something inside the head. I can hear it rattle around inside. I'm not quite sure what happened to it. Toby still moves, but he doesn't have full motion in his head anymorejust partial. I just wish I would have waited a year and went for Kasey who has so much more to offer.
