My family took the Plankton Net to a southern California beach this morning. We were a bit concerned that we wouldn't catch anything because the instructions said we should avoid crashing waves. The surf was up, and we were in shorts not bathing suits, so there was no way we were going to avoid some churning water. It took a few tries before we got the hang of using the net and minimized how much sand we were collecting. However, after 2-3 tries, we were able to time our dipping to avoid the waves. We got great results catching critters and watching them float, swim, and dart around the container through the magnifiers on its side. Lots of fun for curious kids of all ages and their parents and a great educational addition to the usual sandcastle-making at the beach. When we got home, the net and container cleaned up easily, ready for more beach "safaris."

We had lots of fun finding plankton during our vacation in Lake Chelan WA. It was amazing to see all the living living organisms in the water. Love this product!
